One of my favorite date nights with Mike, during our recent trip to Tampa Bay, was our dinner at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, The Rez Grill. it was the perfect spot for Mike and I to kick off our Tampa Bay visit.
From the moment we arrived, the Seminole Hard Rock was buzzing – the casino floor was busy and the new L-Bar had a live band playing all of my favorite songs. It was a good thing that Mike and I had a reservation at The Rez Grill, as the dinner rush was still in full swing.
The Rez Features a Chef-Driven menu under the direction of Frank Anderson. Frank has spent the last 20 years directing award-winning restaurants in Los Angeles, before bringing his unique vision to The Rez Grill. The menu was hand crafted, taking classic dishes from the South and giving them an international twist, and in comparison bringing global cuisine and infusing it with a little Southern-Soul. The culinary result made it difficult for us to decide where to start first… as everything sounded divine.
To start, we chose the Benton’ Ham, house biscuits, cherry-pepper jam, and red-eye aioli. And let me clear I could have just eaten this dish and been satisfied for the night…the biscuits were out of this world amazing and then pairing it with the mix of flavors from the cured ham and sweet/spicy cherry-pepper jam was true perfection.
The entrees ranged from Southern Classics like Chicken and Waffles to Lobster Thermidor, as well as steaks, pasta, and a few shareable dishes. I was in the mood for salmon and selected the Skuna Bay Salmon, served over a bed of caulilini with lemon-miso emulsion. The flavors were well balanced and the fish was cooked perfectly. I selfishly encouraged Mike to order the Chicken and Waffles, which was luckily enough for two…inclusive of all of the fixings – from classic maple syrup to citrus butter and hot sauce.
Desert was a no brainner… chocolate all the way. Mike and I indulged in the Chocolate Budino, which is a dulce de leche, soft cream, and chocolate soil. And their is only one way to eat this dessert, as suggested by our waiter, in bites that combined all of the layers. Each spoon full blends into a smooth chocolate flavor.

Entree prices range from $24-65, while sides are all set at $8 each, starters and salads range between $11-25. The Rez Grill also offers a full bar and comprehensive wine list. While the restaurant is popular with guests, it is also a great standalone destination for anyone in the Tampa Bay.
