Our family really enjoys Honey Baked Ham during the Holidays. We typically buy ham at Christmas time and Easter, and like most families, we end up with leftover ham the days that follow the holidays. When I cook, I really try to find recipes that use similar ingredients so I am not only saving money on the grocery bills but help cut down on food waste.
Ham and Cheese Sliders are not only easy to make, but this is a homerun recipe all year round for tailgates or potluck gatherings.
Easy Holiday Ham and Cheese Sliders
Ingredients:
- Pre-sliced Ham, such as the spiral cut Honey Baked Ham
- 1 Package Hawaiian Sweet Rolls (12 Count)
Ham Tip: You can buy slices of honey baked ham at their store, in most cases you do not have to purchase an entire ham. So if you want to try this recipe throughout the year you can certainly do that. This is also a great recipe for game day or potluck dinner parties.
- Swiss Cheese, slices
- 1 Stick Unsalted Butter, melted
- 1 Tbsp. Dijon Mustard
- 1 Tbsp. Poppy Seeds
- 2 tsp. Dried Minced Onion
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/4 tsp. Salt
- 1/4 tsp. Pepper
Kitchen Gadgets:
- 9×13 Baking Dish
- Aluminum Foil
- Cooking Spray
- Measuring cup or small microwave safe bowl
- Spatula or basting brush
Directions:
Start by preheating the oven to 350 degrees. Open the package of Hawaiian Rolls and slice the them in half. Do not separate the rolls into individual servings, keep the rolls together and use a serrated knife to slice the rolls in half so you are left with two sheets of rolls.
Using the cooking spray generously spray the 9×13 baking dish and place the bottom half of the rolls into the dish. Next start layering the rolls with the swiss cheese and ham. Repeat the layers twice. Place the top half of the rolls onto the last layer.
In a microwave safe bowl or measuring cup, melt the butter, this takes approximately 1 minute. Mix in the Dijon Mustard, Poppy Seeds, Dried Minced Onion, Worcestershire Sauce, Salt and Pepper with the melted butter to create mixture. Generously and evenly pour the mixture on top of the Hawaiian Rolls. Let rest for 5 to 10 Minutes.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake covered for 20 minutes. Remove the dish from the oven and remove the foil, return to the oven to bake for another 5 to 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Serve and Enjoy!
